The James Vacation Challenge 2012

Today I issued a challenge to Will (and me too)....let's visit all the states by our 15th Wedding Anniversary.  That means all 50 states by January 12th, 2022.

That's a big challenge, it turns into 5 states per year...the more I think about it the crazier it seems.  Let's go for it though!

I'm going to start my research now in my free time and really plan out the best way for us to do this. It will all be on a budget, and we will have to be strategic as we drive to our destinations (let's get as many states as we can in each trip).

We've already visited a bunch.  Starting with Michigan just last week; New York, Pennsylvania, DC, New Jersey this past summer with Will's family.  About two years ago we drove down to Florida, which took us through:  Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia

As I blog I'll update with pictures from each of these trips, and we'll see if we can hit them up again over the challenge.

Until next time....

Self Diagnosed Hoarder?!?

Merry Christmas Kristy!

I just took a quiz on the Nate Show website, and it's now official....I'm a hoarder!   They say that the first step to recovery is admitting there's a problem, so here it is....I admit it, I have too much stuff!

I've know for a while that I need to organize and de-clutter (thanks to Jen @ Iheartorganizing I've made a good plan), but I didn't think I was this bad!  My problem is that I can always justify keeping something...I can't get rid of the movie stub from our first date, or the dress that we bought Stella when she was 6 months old (yes, it's lame I know, but I do dress our dog) and what about the empty container that is a weird shape, but I might use some day.

It's a bit early, but I can tell you one of my new year's resolutions...De-clutter & Organize our house - all while staying within the budget!  A tall order I know, but we'll work through it.  I hope you keep reading to find out what our "Live a simpler life adventure" is like.

Thanks for reading

My Girl

I thought today i would finish introducing my crew.

I talked about My Guy in my last post...it wasn't much, but we'll get to the full story sooner or later, and I just posted a picture of us - Ahhh aren't we cute!  Now it's time for you to meet the other part of the family.

This is Stella-Lu.  She is our 2 1/2 year old pug who we just adore, although Will won't admit it if you ask him.  In case you were wondering - her tongue hangs out like that 90% of the time and if you're tempted, we've heard the "she just ran into a wall" jokes many times hahaha.

Well, now you know the whole family...I'll be back again this weekend to talk about a great cake my sister in law and I made for my 2 year old nephew.

What it's all about

Hi Everyone!

Here is my first attempt at being a blogger...I've been reading a lot of blogs lately and have been thinking that I need to try this.  My plan is to share, with anyone who wants to listen read, about the great things that God is doing in our lives.  As I said, I'm new to this blogging thing, so bear with me as I learn how to use all the options with blogspot.

There are 3 of us in this little family...Will (my guy), Stella (my pug) & Kristy (me).  Will and I were married in January 2007 and it was the start to one of the best times of my life.  God put the two of us together and I'm so glad He did, but that's a story for another time. We decided to take the plunge and buy a house in the spring of 2010 and on June 30th 2010 we moved in to our first home.

I love so many things: baking, organizing, cross-stitching, photography, scrapbooking and lots of DIY projects.  I'm also SUPER Cheap!  So I want to do all of this while I save lots of money and my goal is to NEVER pay full price for anything (*smiles*).

I've never been good at keeping a consistent journal, so hopefully this will help out.
